"Life isn't about finding yourself.
Life is about creating yourself."
-George Bernard Shaw
In an effort to maximize instructional time and address the issue of lateness we have developed a school-wide lateness policy that is aligned with the New York City Dept. of Education Discipline Code.
*Every time a detention is missed an additional day will be added. Failure to serve assigned detentions may result in a suspension. Additionally, students will be given a fresh start at the beginning of each marking period.
Students serving detention are expected to stay for one hour after school completing class work under the supervision of a staff member. This would be a perfect time to catch up with homework or any classwork.
The goal is to create and maintain habits that lead to academic and personal success.
|2x||A warning and a parent will be contacted. Parents will be contacted for every subsequent lateness.|
|3x||1 day detention*|
|4x||1 days detention*|
|5x||2 days detention*|
|6x||2 days detention*|
|7x||3 days detention*|
|8x||A parent/guardian must meet with an administrator.|
